Library by Mail comes to Keokuk
The Keokuk Public Library has just launched “Library by Mail.” Library by Mail is a new service for patrons that can't pick up items during Curbside Hours due to work, illness, injury, or transportation issues; and for our most vulnerable patrons isolating at home.
Right now there are no fees for Library by Mail, and return postage will be paid. Borrowers are limited to about 1-5 items, or how much will fit in a Library by Mail bag, and to one order at a time. Just like Curbside checkout, all items will check out for 1 month, but with an extra week for mailing. Borrowers will get return instructions with a prepaid label.
Patrons can request Library by Mail two ways. When placing a request on the library catalog with a card number and password, check the box that says “Mail this to me.” Or, when contacted about items read for pickup, tell a library staff member that you need the item(s) mailed to you.
The Keokuk Public Library continues to be open for Curbside services and telephone reference, Monday – Friday 10:00 am – 4:00 pm, (319) 524-1483. Curbside offers more than just books – library staff check out cake pans, DVDs, audiobooks, magazines, and they have completed curbside Notary, printing, photocopies, fax, lamination, and reference – all free of charge. The library continues to work towards its next phase of reopening, and staff are happy to modify services and work with patrons to ensure their safety. Questions?
